Galaxidi keeps its maritime history in a museum a short walk from the harbour, and it is worth an hour of anyone's afternoon.
What is inside
The collection holds ship models, nautical charts and instruments, ships figureheads, captains logs and diplomas, and watercolours and lithographs of the sailing ships that once worked out of this port.
It explains the town better than anything else here. The houses on the hill make more sense once you have seen what paid for them.
Before you go
Opening hours vary through the year. Ask at reception on the morning you plan to visit and we will check for you.
